Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of questionable actions towards female individuals.
The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
