Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's achievements, its talented cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards throughout the event.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only four special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
