Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the production, adding that he could not remember "a single day without laughter".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles court official decided to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate put a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" connected to the active case.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a public database citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the deaths, public personalities offered divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering controversial statements that were broadly criticized by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the detractors recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan labeled the remarks as "shocking" and remarked they revealed a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an adviser ought to have stepped in when the decision to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
