Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," it added.

It said debris fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
