Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The plane touched down based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
