The young full-back One more composed performance by the youngster following his first cap versus another side. Saka failed to make full advantage of a gorgeous touch behind the opposing backline. The left-back spot looks secure already. 7

The newcomer His first start with the national team. A bit sloppy when playing out but his whipped deliveries caused problems. An effective game manager available to the manager to call upon against sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash challenge. 6/10

The midfielder Set-pieces on corner kicks and free-kicks created chances. Enjoyed license to drift in left midfield only to be offside when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Awarded a well-earned break on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Functioned in an advanced role down the right and did plenty of the hard yards. Showed flashes of quality and dragged a shot over. Withdrawn towards the end by a teammate, his rival, following a yellow card. 7

The winger Had England’s top opening of the first half, his shot well saved by Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet out wide although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Taken off late in the match. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker netting 77th and 78th finishes for his country. The first a classic close-range tap-in and the second a classy header having drifted away from his marker. At 32, his form is unwavering and England stand a real opportunity next summer when he's in the team. Eight

Eberechi Eze Struggled to influence play out wide. Had a good opening when set up by the midfielder however Strakosha kept it out. His replacement produced a bigger effect in his place. 5/10
