The Reform UK leader Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
